Clutch 2013

Earthrocker.com

The site is dedicated to keeping fans up to date with the progress of the forthcoming Clutch record, Earth Rocker. As Neil, JP, Tim and Dan head to the studio to do what they do, fans can stop in at Earthrocker.com and find out what the latest news is. Along the way the band will release some inside information, could be a new song, photos, a video or one of Neil’s fancy lyrics from the new record.

If you have been under a rock for the last 20 years, Clutch is an American rock band from Germantown, Maryland, formed in 1990. Since its formation the band line-up has included Neil Fallon (vocals, rhythm guitar), Tim Sult (lead guitar), Dan Maines (bass) and Jean-Paul Gaster (drums). To date, Clutch has released nine studio albums, and several rarities and live albums. They now own their own label, Weathermaker.

On the video side of things the band has released two DVDs. First in 2008 with Full Fathom Five, which was a two disc set including live performances from around the world (video Field Recordings] and a CD of mixed and mastered audio from those same performances (Audio Field Recordings).

In 2010, Clutch released Live at the 9:30, which was again a two disc set. The first DVD was a live performance form the infamous 9:30 club in Washington, DC where the band performed their self-titled record in its entirety. DVD #2 is a 90 minute road documentary called Fortune Tellers Make a Killing Nowadays. The documentary follows the band as they travel the US and proves that they are one of the hardest working bands out there.

  • Can’t wait for the new album!

  • Hey guys! After having been a fan for a few years, I finally caught you live at the Granada in Lawrence, KS back in July. Just wondering if you keep copies of your setlists and/or if you could email me the Lawrence setlist. You can see what I posted for the show on setlist.fm, but it’s incomplete and not in the correct order (unless I amazingly managed to do so). Anyway, the forthcoming songs that you played live (i.e. Earth Rocker & Newt Gingrich) BLEW ME AWAY!!! Can’t wait for the new cd!

  • If it’s not too late, order from Newbury comics and you get a signed CD booklet! You’ll have a wait a couple more days since the album is out now, but it’s worth it!

  • Has anyone ever noticed that when you get turned onto Clutch, they become your “favorite band of all time?” And I’m not being sarcastic, I’m being serious. Whether you’ve been a fan for 20 years or 2 years, Clutch doesn’t just set the bar for music from then on, they BECOME the bar. They become the de facto comparison for whether or not a band is good. It’s like eating ground beef your whole life, then tasting Filet Mignon. When given a choice, why would you go back to ground beef? THERE. IS. NONE. BETTER.
